This tutorial explains how to transfer Microsoft Office documents such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint from PC to iPhone or iPad. Once added, you can access the documents on the iOS device as well as transfer and edit them on another PC. Unlike many already existing methods, there is no need to email the documents to yourself.

Let’s add Office documents to iPhone and iPad.

On the iPhone or iPad, install any iOS app that supports Word, Excel and PowerPoint file sharing. There are many such apps such as Documents 5 (free) or GoodReader (USD 6.99)

Next, get the free CopyTrans Apps on the PC from the following page Download CopyTrans Apps.

Install the program. If you need help installing CopyTrans Apps, please refer to this article.

Start CopyTrans Apps and connect your iDevice to the computer. The iOS apps are listed on the left of the main window.

Select the document-reader app. In this case, we selected the app called “Documents”

Click on “Add documents”

The newly opened window allows you to navigate to the PC location where your Office documents are located. Select all the files you wish to add and click “Open”

TIP: You can alternatively add the documents to the iPhone or iPad via directly drag-dropping them to the open CopyTrans Apps window.

The selected Office documents are now readily accessible on the iPad from within the document-reader app.

NOTE: You can also edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents saved on your iPad or iPhone. Simply double-click on the respective document within CopyTrans Apps and open it with the corresponding Office program installed on the PC.
